India

In India, we extend support to underserved communities by providing food assistance and essential supplies, especially during times of crisis such as the pandemic. We work alongside local contacts to ensure that aid reaches those who need it most — including struggling families and elderly individuals. Our mission is to offer stability, care, and encouragement during difficult times.

Kolkata, India (formerly Calcutta)

Kolkata is the capital of the Indian state of West Bengal and has a population of 4.5 million people making it the 7th most populous state in India.

The average income per month is roughly around $443 USD.

Approximately 1/3 of the population live in the slums of Kolkata. There are 2011 registered slums and 3500 unregistered slums.

We met Amos Parbat thru our friend Sandy. He is pictured here with his parents who live in Kolkata.

His story: His father’s factory closed down recently leaving him unemployed. His mother has extreme asthma and has to be hospitalized often. With no other support, their family is upon hard times. We were able to support Amos and his family by donating funds for food and housing.
